Fascial Stretch Session

Fascial Stretch is where I teach you Self Myofascial Release / Trigger Point Therapy which is effective in releasing tension, contractions, and adhesions, in muscle and fascia (connective tissue), that cause restricted range of motion, pain, and compensatory movement patterns.

Fascia is the continuous matrix of fibrous connective tissue which envelopes muscle fibers, spindles, bundles, whole muscles and organs. It gives the muscles their shape, connects muscles to other muscles and bone, and keeps everything in place around your skeleton.

Fascial Stretch works by using techniques like compression, shearing and flushing which stimulate receptors in the body to help muscles and fascial tissue, let go, relax and soften, leading to decompression of the spine, joints, increased range of motion and an increased ease of mobility.

In this session, I will empower you with a simple individualized program using efficient techniques to be able to continue the bodywork we began together, so that you can work with your own body in the comfort of your own home on an ongoing basis. Your program will address your individual needs and enable you to be your own perfect therapist. These are practical tools that you can use for life.

For example, if you suffer from headaches which are primarily located in the temples, I can show you how to relieve them in minutes so that the need for medication is redundant. Or, if you have desk sitting posture, your program can be corrective in order to repattern healthier posture.
I recommend booking this session after we have had an initial bodywork session together and have a better understanding of your movement patterns, restrictions, compensations, locations of active trigger points and discomfort.
Fascial Stretch is as important as strength or mobility training, and is a necessary adjunct to any activity.

Benefits:

  • Decompresses the body from gravitational forces and emotional holding patterns
  • Relaxes muscle/fascial tissue leading to increased range of motion (ROM)[1], improving the efficiency of strength training
  • Reduces recovery time and delayed onset muscles soreness (DOMS)[2]
  • Empowering people to help themselves
  • Reduce pain[3] and increases flexibility[4]
  • Open deeper layers of muscle tissue and fascia that can’t be reached by other forms of stretching or yoga
  • Stretching becomes more effective
  • Keeps joints aligned and reduces uneven joint wear and tear
  • Prevents Injuries by improving adaptability and aids in repair
  • Improves posture and prevents poor posture from progressing
  • Improving circulation and detoxification. The body is made up of 75% water which is flushed by muscular action. Contracted muscles aren’t effective pumps and can lead to lack of mobility. We need this flushing and hydration to keep the fascial sheets lubricated, hydrated, moving freely and cleaning out the body. Supplements any activity or therapy.
