Frequently Asked Questions
Find everything you need to prepare for your journey toward recovery and vibrant health. From studio protocols in Playa del Carmen to the specifics of Emily’s Naturopathic process, these answers are designed to provide professional clarity before you step through the door.
General Practice + Philosophy
Q: What makes your approach to wellness different?
A: Emily combines clinical alternative medicine with high-level structural bodywork. Unlike “spa” treatments that offer temporary relaxation, this practice is focused on functional recovery and root-cause healing. Whether through Naturopathy or Therapeutic Massage, every session is data-informed and tailored to your specific biology and lifestyle.
Q: Should I book a Naturopathy session or a Massage session?
A: It depends on your goals. If you are struggling with internal issues like fatigue, digestive distress, or hormonal imbalances, Naturopathic Coaching is the right path. If you are dealing with physical pain, TMJ, or mobility restrictions, Therapeutic Massage is best. Many clients find the most success by combining both for a holistic “inside-out” approach.
Booking, Payments + Travel Logistics
Q: How do I book and pay for my session?
A: You can book all services directly via the [Book Now] button. Payment is due at the time of service. I accept Cash (USD or MXN), Zelle, and Wise. We also accept PayPal, though a 5% transaction fee applies. I do not accept credit cards at this time.
Q: What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
A: As a small, private practice, late cancellations significantly impact our schedule. I require at least 12 hours’ notice for any changes. Cancellations made within the 12-hour window or “no-shows” will be charged a 50% session fee.
Q: Do you offer home visits or outcall services?
A: Yes, for groups of three or more. I can bring the studio experience to your villa or rental in the following areas for an additional travel fee:
Playa del Carmen: $570 MXN
Puerto Aventuras / Puerto Morelos: $950 MXN
Tulum / Cancun: $1,425 MXN
Q: Are there discounted packages available?
A: Yes. For those committed to a long-term treatment plan, I offer packages of 5 sessions (15% off) or 10 sessions (20% off). These are non-refundable and perfect for addressing chronic structural issues.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Q: How should I prepare for my in-person session at the studio?
A: To maintain a clinical and professional environment, I ask that you follow these steps before arrival:
Shower: Please arrive freshly showered, especially if you have been at the beach.
Remove Sand/Salt: Ensure your skin and feet are free of salt, sand, or excessive sweat.
Attire: Please wear clean, comfortable underwear.
If you have trouble finding the location, please message me via WhatsApp, as I cannot answer calls while I am with a client.
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: For massage sessions, bring comfortable clothes and a bottle of water. For Naturopathic sessions, bring any recent lab results or a list of current supplements. If you have trouble finding the studio, please send a message via WhatsApp; I do not answer phone calls while in session.
Q: What products do you use in your treatments?
A: I use only premium, organic, and non-toxic products. This includes organic raw shea butter for deep tissue grip, organic coconut oil for glide, and high-potency essential oils from the Swiss Alps. Please notify me of any allergies or sensitivities before your session begins.
Q: Are there discounted packages available?
A: Yes. For those committed to a long-term treatment plan, I offer packages of 5 sessions (15% off) or 10 sessions (20% off). These are non-refundable and perfect for addressing chronic structural issues.
Naturopathy + Virtual Coaching
Q: How do I prepare for a Naturopathic Consultation?
A: Your journey starts with a free Discovery Call. If we move forward with a full Consultation, you must submit all online intake forms and recent blood panels at least 4 business days before our appointment. This lead time is essential for Emily to perform a clinical review of your data.
Q: How do virtual sessions work?
A: All coaching is conducted via Zoom. You will receive a unique link in your confirmation email. Ensure you have a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection for the duration of the 45 or 90-minute session.
Q: Do you work with children or minors?
A: Yes. Naturopathic and therapeutic support is available for minors, provided a parent or legal guardian is present and signs a Parental Consent Form prior to the start of the session.
Q: Are there discounted packages available?
A: Yes. For those committed to a long-term treatment plan, I offer packages of 5 sessions (15% off) or 10 sessions (20% off). These are non-refundable and perfect for addressing chronic structural issues.
Safety + Professional Boundaries
Q: Are there any medical reasons I should NOT get a massage?
A: Your safety is my priority. There are certain conditions where massage is not recommended or may be unsafe, including acute fever, contagious skin conditions, or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). If you have a serious medical condition or have recently had surgery, please provide a doctor’s clearance before booking. For pregnancy, my sessions are safe and highly beneficial during the second and third trimesters.
Q: Do you offer tantric, sensual, or "erotic" massage?
A: Absolutely not. This is a strictly professional, clinical, and therapeutic practice. Any requests for non-therapeutic or suggestive services will result in the immediate termination of the session without a refund and a permanent ban from the practice. We do not provide referrals for tantric practitioners.
